Submission Details

INVITATION FOR ABSTRACTS FOR SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME

  • Abstracts must be submitted via the conference website only. Only abstracts submitted via the online submission form will be sent to the Scientific Committee for review.
  • Abstracts submitted by fax or e-mail will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract. Please note that there are no limits on the number of abstracts which can be submitted, however, each individual will be selected to present a maximum of two presentations.
  • Abstracts must be original and must not have been published or presented at any other prior meeting. If, however, the abstract to be presented is on a topic you have used before, but now have developed a new presentation with a varied viewpoint (or focused on a different aspect of the research) then you are welcome to submit the abstract.
  • Submission of an abstract acknowledges that you agree for the abstract to be published in the official Congress publications.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
  • Abstracts may not be edited / updated after final submission.
  • Conflicts of Interest / Disclosure: Work submitted for presentation must include an acknowledgment of funding sources of commercial nature and/or consulting or holding of significant equity in a company that could be affected by the results of the study.
  • Registration is pre-requisite for acceptance of the abstract and presenting in the conference.
  • Your abstract is not successfully submitted until you receive a confirmation e-mail after clicking the final submit button. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, please contact the secretariat.
  • The Conference Scientific Committee will determine the suitability of the abstracts and will take the final decision. The Committee will endeavour to schedule abstracts according to authors’ presentation preferences but reserves the right to decide on the final form of presentation. The decisions of the Scientific Committee shall be final and binding.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject abstracts based on the following criteria: if abstracts do not comply with style guidelines; including excessive length, contain inappropriate content, fall outside of the topical scope of the meeting and don’t meet ethical or scientific standards set by the Scientific Committee.
  • Please note that abstracts must be SUBMITTED before the deadline to ensure they are sent to review for inclusion in the Scientific Program.

Word Limit: Should have maximum 300 words
Abbreviation: Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.
Drugs: Use generic names of drugs. The presentation must be balanced and contain no commercial promotional content.
Privacy: Submissions should not contain patient names, hospital ID numbers or other identifying information.
Type: Indicate your presentation preference (oral/ poster) when submitting your abstract. The final decision about oral/poster presentation will stay with the scientific committee, though attempts will be made to honor your choice.

 

Submission of a Symposium

Word Count: Abstract of 300 words describing about the symposium with topics and speakers.
Speakers: There can be maximum of 5 speakers per session; one of them can also be the chair.
Time: 60 minutes
Notification: Only the proposing author will receive notification of the final Scientific Committee decision, and he/she is responsible to communicate the result to all other chairs and speakers.
Expenses: Acceptance of the proposal for a symposium does not imply that the Organizing Committee will cover any expenses of the chairpersons and speakers.
Conference Registration: All authors of a symposium should register to the Congress for making presentation

Notification: Only the proposing author will receive notification of the final Scientific Committee decision, and he/she is responsible to communicate the result to all other chairs and speakers.
Expenses: Acceptance of the proposal for a workshop does not imply that the Organizing Committee will cover any expenses of the chairpersons and speakers.

  • I confirm that I previewed this abstract and that all information is correct. I accept that the content of this abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission and I am aware that it will be published as submitted.
  • Submission of the abstract constitutes the consent of all authors to publication
  • The Abstract Submitter warrants and represents that no part of the information and content provided by neither him/her, nor the publication of any such Content by the Organizers, on the internet or otherwise infringes any third-party rights, including but not limited to privacy rights and/or intellectual property rights.
  • The Abstract Submitter grants the Organizers a copyright license to reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the text of the Content on a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive basis.
  • I herewith confirm that the contact details saved in this system are those of the presenting author, who will be notified about the status of the abstract.
  • The presenting author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract. The submitting author may request to be copied on abstract correspondence.
  • I understand that the presenting author must be a registered participant.
  • The Organizers reserve the right to remove from publication and/or presentation an abstract which does not comply with the above.
  • I understand that I must select a specific Theme, Topic and/or Sub-Topic for my abstract allocation. Although the Committee will work hard to honor this selection, this cannot be guaranteed. The Committee reserves the right to change the Theme, Topic or Sub-Topic under which the abstract was originally submitted.

 

The Organizers of WASP Asia Pacific Hybrid Congress are pleased to offer abstract poster viewing and special abstract presentations for the meeting. All abstracts will be available on demand on the Virtual Congress platform beginning September 16, 2021 – 1400 hrs India till the end of the meeting, September 18, 2021.

 

Virtual Poster Hall
  • All posters will be openly available for viewing in the Virtual Poster Hall.
  • Posters cannot be downloaded from the Virtual Poster Hall once they are on display.
  • Each poster category will have an open forum chat feature, during the presentation time, as will be specified to the delegates to encourage engagement between attendees and authors.  It is encouraged that abstract authors visit the chat feature throughout the congress period and participate in discussion with attendees.
Information for Poster Presenters
  • By submitting your abstract, you affirm that your abstract is your own, either individually or as a group. Should plagiarism be detected, the abstract will be rejected. The body of the abstract shall be maximum 300 words in Times new roman font.
  • Virtual Poster Information:
    1. Posters must be emailed to the organizers by 25th August 2021 2200 hrs IST.
    2. Please ensure poster content is scientific in nature and refrain from including marketing or promotional materials.
    3. Label your file with the Number allotted to you as your abstract reference number.
E-Poster Presentation Specifications
  • General specifications:
    • The E-poster will be displayed on standard Portrait Format
    • File format should be High Resolution JPEG (below 2 Mb file).
    • Single JPEG file should be sent.
    • E Poster should be 42 X 59.5 cms (Conference or Event poster) in size.
    • For creating an e-poster, you can use this free online website www.canva.com. Sign up with Google or Facebook, or with your own email and password. In the search box, search for ‘Conference poster’. From the options shown, you can either choose from the templates, or choose from a blank template, and create your own poster by adding photos, text etc.
    • Animation/movies/sounds will not be supported; please submit in a static JPEG (Not GIF etc.)
    Design specifications
  • The E-poster Specifics:
    E-poster needs to be created as per suggestion under
    1. The poster title should be displayed prominently at the top of the poster. Mention the Authors clearly below the title
    2. The text should include (most likely as separate elements of the poster) Introduction, Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusion and Acknowledgements
    3. The poster should be self-explanatory. Text should be brief and well organized
    4. The type face chosen should be a simple and clear one (e.g. Helvetica)
    5. The correct font size depends greatly on the fonts used in the JPEG and the thumb rule should be that if its visible well on the computer screen it shall be visible on the E-Poster Display Screen.
  • Color suggestions:
    1. When using light backgrounds (white, yellow, light blue) we suggest using dark fonts (black, navy blue, dark green)
    2. When using dark backgrounds (blue, purple) we suggest using light fonts (white, yellow, cyan)
    3. Avoid using red or green in any fonts or backgrounds as they are colors that are difficult to read
    4. Illustrations/images/photographs used in the E-poster should be enlarged enough to show relevant details

 

WASP Early Career Psychiatrist Fellowship 2021

WASP Asia Pacific Hybrid Congress 2021 will offer early career fellowships to the psychiatrists to enhance their professional knowledge and network with their peers from other countries. They will get opportunity to interact with stalwarts in psychiatry from across the globe

The organizing committee of WASP Asia Pacific Hybrid Congress 2021 will offer 10 fellowships to early career psychiatrists to the eligible professionals which will provide waived registration to the Congress.

  1. Be in post graduate training for psychiatry or have completed specialist training less than 7 years ago
  2. Be fluent in English
  3. Have an excellent professional record

Documents Required with Application

  • A letter of recommendation from the head of the department where working currently, or  from the WASP Council of Past Presidents.
  • The letter should also confirm that the applicant is a psychiatrist having completed specialist training less than 7 years ago
  • A curriculum vitae (Resume)
  • A letter of intent (giving details why he/she should be considered for the fellowship)

Nominations must be submitted to the Organizing Secretary, WASP 2021 through submission portal by 15 July 2021. Valid nominations will be assessed systematically by a panel of peers and senior psychiatrists appointed by the WASP EC.

    Best Oral Communication Award

    1. The Award will be given to the best Oral Communication presented in the WASP Asia Pacific Hybrid Congress 2021 by a young delegate as the principal author, who must be below 35 years of age at the time of submission of the award material.
    2. There is a single award.
    3. The award will consist of a Scroll, which will be sent by post to the Awardee.
    4. The Oral Communication will be judged by the panel of judges formed by the Scientific Committee and the ward be given by the organizing committee of the conference.
    5. For any oral communication to be considered for Best Oral Communication Award, it must be based on research work done on the themes as specified in the scientific programme of the WASP 2021. It must not have been submitted to, accepted for publication, or published in a scientific journal at the time of submission of the award poster to WASP Asia Pacific Hybrid Congress 2021, nor presented at a national and international conference earlier.
    6. Not more than two papers will be considered from any member, as the principal author, for the Award.
    7. For consideration for the Award, full paper should be submitted according to the guidelines for authors from World Social Psychiatry journal, available at https://www.worldsocpsychiatry.org/contributors.asp
    8. It must be submitted to the Organizing Secretary, WASP 2021 through submission portal by 31st July 2021.
    9. The paper submitted shall be rated by the Scientific Committee of the Congress both on the basis of the submitted full paper and the paper presentation at the Congress. The paper securing the highest marks shall win the Award.
    10. All the authors of the winning paper shall be considered to have won the Award and will be issued certificates
